While we’ve been a full-service provider of funerals in Atlantic City and Philadelphia for over a century, we also offer a blend of the modern and traditional to meet your service needs. With this in mind, we’re proud to have named Stephen Collins as Roth-Goldsteins’ Memorial Chapel’s new managing director.
Steve has been a licensed director for more than 50 years and even though his title is new, he’s been part of the Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel family since the early 1980s and has been integral in building our reputation and guiding families through the funeral process with compassion. "Steve has been a vital part of our firm for decades and his dedication to his community and profession is unmatched,” said retired managing director, Eric Goldstein.
Working together as a family to serve your family has been a focus of our team for generations, and this stands today as Steve works alongside licensed funeral director, Danielle Barry, to support our families in need. Danielle has been active in the profession for 15 years and is experienced in conducting funeral services for all faiths and backgrounds. “Steve and I complement each other because we get along very well, have similar personalities, and work very hard to serve the needs of the community,” said Danielle.
Together, Steve and Danielle provide compassionate and professional pre-need and at-need funeral services. “In working with Steve, I’ve learned more about traditional Jewish funeral customs and practices, and the importance placed on all of these traditions as we honor and remember the life of the deceased,” said Danielle.
While Danielle brings a bit more modern knowledge and a broader spectrum of service experience to Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel, Steve brings more traditional aspects that are the root of our business. “We try to blend the new and old to suit everyone’s needs and to help families in any way that we can, and to provide them whatever type of service they are looking for,” said Danielle. “We recently added pet cremation services. Understanding that pets are a big part of people’s lives and members of the family, they often aren’t sure where to turn to for these services. We’ve made arrangements with our local pet crematorium and we will be providing the services to families at our cost.”
Born and raised in Ventnor City, Steve has always had a focus on serving as an active member in his community. He belongs to several trade organizations and Jewish associations, including Kavod, the Independent Jewish Funeral Chapels, Beth El Synagogue, and Shirat Hayam. He is also involved in several organizations that hold much meaning for him, such as Stamp Out Opioid Abuse in Atlantic County, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Knights of Pythias.
This focus on community has been a great asset in Steve’s role with us over the years. “I had the opportunity to work alongside Steve for more than 20 years as the President of Roth Goldsteins’ Memorial Chapel and Monuments,” Eric said. “His unrivaled attention to detail and caring for the families we met every day was not only a pleasure to witness, but a true learning experience for me as well.”
Steve’s new position is a great opportunity for Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel and Steve to grow and better serve the funeral needs of our region. “Danielle and I are looking forward to expanding our business services and delivering outstanding personal service to families throughout Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties,” said Steve.
We welcome you to reach out and get to know Steve and Danielle to see how professional and knowledgeable they both are. Together, they provide the utmost in compassionate end-of-life care and we’re confident that the people of Southern New Jersey are in good hands.
