7 Facts You Might Not Know About Our Family-Owned Funeral Home
1.
We have a rich history in the Atlantic City and Philadelphia regions dating back to the 19th century. The Roth funeral home opened on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City in the late 1800s and was operated by Joseph Roth. In 1995, Ed Roth approached Goldsteins’ funeral home in Philadelphia and asked them to purchase Roth. It was after the merger of these two companies that Roth-Goldsteins' was established. Both Goldsteins’ and Roth Goldsteins’ continue to provide the best funeral and pre-arrangement services for families with the upmost care and compassion. Meet our family here.
2.
We periodically provide death education classes for children with the opportunity for them to learn about the rituals and traditions of burial and death. The program not only helps children to understand the rituals and grief process, but also helps to demystify the concept of death. Children will understand and experience the complete burial process in a comfortable and supportive environment, with parents attending if they so choose.
3.
In addition to funeral or memorial service needs, we also offer cemetery monuments that express the unique life of your loved one for generations. We provide all the traditional shapes and styles available in a variety of granite colors. All cemeteries have regulations regarding what style and size memorial you may place on your lots. Before spending time on a monument design, please check with your cemetery to find out any restrictions they may have. See our monument checklist to help you get started.
4.
In today’s society, more people are moving to other states or have vacation homes but wish to be brought back here to the New Jersey area for burial because this is where they grew up, where their family lives or is buried and where they own a plot in a cemetery. Whatever the reasons are, we’ve established relationships with funeral homes across the country to make this simple and stress-free for your family. Conversely, if you wish to have your funeral here in this area and the cemetery is in another state or internationally (such as Israel) we can accommodate your wishes as well.
5.
There are certain changes and cancellations that should be done once a certified death certificate is obtained. For your peace of mind and ease, we provide you with a
general checklist to download of what may need to be canceled or transferred. This includes property, bank accounts, stock portfolios, or even filing a life insurance claim.
6.
In addition to our Atlantic City, New Jersey location we have two chapels in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Our Roth-Goldsteins' location serves Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties as well as parts of South Jersey.
